I know someone who said they would never lie to their kids, which is an enormous crock of baloney

It's fun to sit from on high and tell people "don't bribe your kids" :D....even if I don't really mean it....
Is it bribing or is it incentivizing?

Let's be honest, the world would be a terrible place if everyone always told the truth.  "Hi Bob, how's it going", "Not so great.  I'm depressed, have a headache, my boss is riding my ass...", "Listen Bob, I don't really give a shit".  Plus, think of all the lies we are told growing up:  Tooth fairy, Santa, Jesus, your face will stick like that, hard work is rewarded, etc.

I have to do my best to never lie to kids.  A lot of the time I basically make my living on their trust....leads to some interesting verbal gymnastics and occassional refusal to answer....good lord I'm glad I don't hae ot do it often.  I'm an awful liar...

You get better at it plus little kids are too trusting to think anything you say is a lie.

I should quit working with teenagers...they're default is "lie."  One of my students this last year had the best bullshit detector last year...it was awesome...

I honestly try not to lie to my kids. What the hell do you guys lie about?

Also, we looked at mini-vans to replace our previous car. The only reason I'm against them is that I don't like big (on the outside) cars. If we were getting a new car I'd take a serious look at the Mazda 5, which seems like a small minivan.

Mazda 5 was on our list when we looked into the FiT.  Mileage sucked in comparison and it offered little more than the FiT, so it got nixed.

Biggest positive for me would be the 6 seats.

Unless the FiT can seat 6...
