Bluetooth headset
« on: May 28, 2009, 03:52:27 PM »
I fucking hate my Plantronics bluetooth headset.  I'm going to sell it and buy a new one.  Any suggestions?  It will be pairing with a LG Chocolate if it matters.

Just read a bunch of reviews on Amazon and I'm leaning towards the Plantronics 510.  I have the 520 and the quality is shit and many people say it's a downgrade from the 510.

I'm using the 520 right now (got it on sale a month ago, $20) with a curve 8320. I logged over 3000 minutes according to my current bill since i bought it, not a single complaint yet. Sound quality for me is amazing. And most of my calls are from people sitting in jail cells so they have echos to deal with and still no complaints.

I remember reading reviews that LG phones are crap with headsets though, including the 520. So the quality may not just be the headset. Plantronics makes amazing BT equipment.

Well it was mainly used on my RAZR and my iPhone... it wasn't really used much with the LG.

I never used BT with any other phone, i just remember when i reviewed a few of them alot of people were getting issues with one phone, and not with another. I checked the box for mine and its a 520 like i thought. I use it from 7am till about noon when it gets low then i throw it back on around 1 after it charges and use it till i pass out around 2am. Never a complaint. I use it 99% of the time because im always walking, working, driving, typing, something.

And imo its pretty darn comfortable. Certainly holds up well. I chased and tackled a skip in a liquor store parking lot last tues and it fell out. My boss stepped on it running behind me, barely even scratched the thing.

One. Unless you're in a car in which case built-in bluetooth ftw!
