Anyone gone SSD yet?

Has anyone bought an SSD drive yet? Based on the lifehacker article I posted in the software board, it sounds like they're getting pretty good and you only really need it for the OS and applications. So maybe a 60GB drive would do most of what you need out of SSD. I looked at Newegg and I see they have a ton of them so I'm curious to see if the prices start to come down a bit.
I think I'll definitely consider one for my next machine.

Too many issues with them at this point. Maturity is still a couple years off at best. They have durability issues, slowing issues, cost is high per GB, and the speed variances between the models and brands is a mess.

I'll be building a PC at the end of the summer and I'm going to try an SSD.

The big issue with SSDs is with writes. If you install the OS and Applications on it and use a regular HD for everything else it should be pretty good. The potential problem is with logs that get modified frequently by the OS. The SSD can't keep writing to the same block so it has to move things around to distribute the writes evenly.
Overall for a regular user I think you'd be fine with a set-up like that. I wouldn't run any data intensive applications off an SSD just yet though.

It sounds like the newest drives don't really have those issues though and they say by the time you hit the new max on writes the drives will be obsolete anyways.

Well I think that's why Obes had posted that other link with Win7 tweaks & SSDs.
