Topic: downtime anyone?

I'm just curious if anyone was on here this afternoon around 2:30 EST and if you saw any problems getting connections to the site or anything.  I got a series of emails from the mysql server stating "too many connections" to the forums core PHP file.  I'm just curious if someone is DOS attacking us.

I saw the database error screen.  I left then and when I came back a few hours later it was back to normal.

i tried gettin in twice but it just came up with the dumb page - there seems to be a problem and that an email has been sent.

I don't remember getting that error at all yesterday, but I don't know when I visit this site.

I'm pretty sure I was asleep by 2:30 yesterday, so I didn't experience any downtime.

seems to do it every so often (were talking like weeks apart), is the webserver clearing out its garbage?

No idea... I want to say it's because of regular maintenance... but it's starting to piss me off.

Well, you know, it's just a web site - it ain't life & death or anything. Close sometimes, but still...

Yea it may just be something as stupid as old junk. I had a SMF forum that kept doing that and it was because i didnt have any pruning, log clearouts, etc being done on it. Now its fine.
