The Lego Movie
« on: February 17, 2014, 07:58:58 PM »
Saw this this morning with the family. We figured at 96% fresh ratings it would probably be reasonably fun for everybody, including my dad and sister.

After the first 45 minutes or so I was wondering why it had such positive reviews. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great and I couldn't see why people would like it so much. I thought it finished strong, though. Not amazing but worthy of a thumbs up.

7/10

I haven't been looking closely or anything, but this is literally the first semi-negative thing I've heard about this movie

Yeah, ditto.  I've pretty much watched all the trailers and we were going to take the kids.  This kinda bummed me out.  :(

I gave it a thumbs up!

Part of my less than enthusiastic review had to do with expectations. Knowing it got 96% going in, I expected an amazing movie. Also, I kind of pushed my dad and sister into watching it, telling them it was supposed to be a great movie, so I was hoping it would be great to cheer them up a bit.

As a whole, I can see why some people loved it and wouldn't be surprised if you did, too. So don't be bummed out or anything. But also go in with the expectation that it might just be a good movie rather than an awesome one.

Yup.  True big screen flick.  We had a blast with it.  Not what we expected, but fun.  I could see it again and probably will.

My fiance and my brother went on a bro date and saw the lego movie together (tossed a coin between it and robocop) and now they can't stop singing about how everything is awesome. I guess it's better than everyone asking if I want to build a snowman.

Frozen was awesome.  Took the kids to see it in 3D and they had a blast.

And :fu: charlie.  You ruined the lego movie for me too.  RUINED!  JERK!

Saw the Lego movie.  It was good, but not that memorable.  Don't believe the hype.

Pretty much ruined it for me too.  I guess there is no use going on anymore.  Nothing left to live for....  :)
