Re: Enterprise
Couldn't post much as I was on the cell and on the train and it is a short ride.
I didn't think the theme was all that bad, it fit the basic idea pretty well. I think they fucked it even more in the third season. The best was the mirror universe shows.
Enterprise failed because it didn't do what the first two shows did: act as a vehicle for social commentary. One of the best shows was the AIDS allegory. Unlike DS9 and Voyager, which had unlying plots, OS, TNG, and Enterprise were more free form so they needed to reach out to people more.

10 years and no one has gotten a promotion?
You wouldn't have an ensign in control of the bridge, especially when there are higher ranking people on the bridge at the same time.
Then whole Xindi thing was interesting but didn't seem like it fit. To my knowledge it had never been brought up in the previous shows and you'd think something of that importance would still referenced even a few hundred years later. At the end it almost felt like they were trying to tie up loose ends. Though the augments arc had the commentary feel to it.
Moving on:
Yes, must put Firefly on my list.
Babylon 5, maybe later. Seen a few shows and I'm not sure. It might be better if I watched it from the beginning through.
The Shield vs The Wire: I think I'm gonna go with The Wire, just seems more interesting.
Might check out Dr. Who but I'm not a huge fan of British comedy.
