Heath Ledger
I wonder how much draw his death is bringing to the movie.
I bet a ton but it sounds warranted

Very warranted.

10/10 Both my wife and I.

Riveting story, unpredictable, great acting across the whole cast (even the small parts), stunningly crisp film quality, topped off by an very high quality soundtrack that was applied perfectly.

It was long but did not feel that way.

I saw it tonight on IMAX.  I thought it was pretty amazing as well.  One of my friends said it was "deep."  If you're a batman fan, you can definitely predict some of the broader events, but otherwise, the story was great.

Actually, yes.  :p  Well, at least Matrix.

But I think he thought audience reaction was more interesting particularly in the ferry scene.

Oops, I misread and thought you said you watched Dark Knight instead of Batman Begins.  Totally just ruined the whole movie for you.  My bad.

I haven't read the thread to avoid spoilers, but I was really hoping to go see this movie this weekend. It's rare we get to the theaters but I was going to try to make an exception. Unfortunately the missus just told me she doesn't really want to see it because she would get freaked out watching and knowing that Ledger just died. Since it doesn't make sense for me to go to a movie except as an outing with her, I guess I'm going to have to wait for video. :(

He's been dead for over 6 months now, tell her to think of it as an old classical movie where most if not all of the actors have long since passed.

You're one to talk.

He was talking more about our own perceptions and stereotypes.  I guess in the end, it was really about taking aspects of the movie and raising questions about society, and might not have actually pertained to the movie itself.  Nevertheless, I think one can take Dark Knight for more than face value as just another summer flick with toys and explosions.

And though his conversations are probably with other people in our robotics program, I don't think it's politically correct to call them twinkies.

I agree with PJ.  Tell her to get over it faster.
