Anyone else think SC was really overrated?

No, but only because I don't know what it was rated and I didn't play enough other games to compare it to.

starcraft was my number 2 choice - I spent ton of time playing almost as much as....... well, now this will be my next choice

Starcraft would've been my first choice. I probably love it so much because it's one of the first games that I played online more than casually

My first pick is: Doom

I remember being scared just watching my dad play it when I was little.

I was sure you'd pick it! That game was revolutionary. And there are some side quests you can go back and do after beating it, or you can just play the whole thing again.


Star Craft, Super Mario 3, Tetris, and Doom were all on my list too.

Ok, so something tells me that my gaming choices aren't going to fall in line with most based on things I've seen posted here, but here goes anyways:

Half-life 1 - this was my first FPS and I spent WAY too many hours my freshman year of college fragging the shit out of people in the dorms.  To the point where I'm pretty sure it affected my grades.

Since I think I'm supposed to pick again, here's my next:

Battlefield 2 - my favorite FPS by far.  I can't even tell you how many hours I've logged in that game.

Half Life would probably be high up on most people's lists.  BF2, not so much.

The only thing I can see standing in the way of BF2 is early bug issues.  But when a game is that complex there are bound to be problems.  I think for what it was, it is still, IMHO, one of the best FPS games of it's kind ever made.  Best vehicles, best team work, best combat.  Not the best weapons and I could have imagined better maps but really... it has it all, IMO.

BF2 also isn't nearly as widely played/known as a lot of the other games
