Light Pollution
« on: September 09, 2007, 12:43:07 AM »
Just saw this article on /. about "light pollution" (no, not the opposite of "heavy pollution"):

It's amazing how easy it is to forget that there's always at least a street light on outsite my window. I went camping a while back (hadn't been camping in a long time) and it was startling to wake up and not be able to see my hand in front of my face.

I totally understand the concept.  It is rare I see the night sky undiluted with ambient light.  I often miss that. :(

we went camping last saturday into sunday, and it was awsome. Theres nothing like that. We actually setup the campsite during the day, and then took the kayaks down the river after dark and landed at the site around 4am. We do it on the full moon so you can see the debris in the river, but it is awsome. Me and the g/f love that stuff.

Most of the time its just me and her and maybe some friends. We toss a tent, a sleeping bag, and some food and stuff into the two kayaks, and head north. Find a river, go down till we feel tired, and just pull over anywhere there is a small clearing and campout for the night.
hey ethic if you and i were both courting lily allen..... oh wait, which one of us has a relationship that lasted more than the bus ride home?
