Post by: ober on April 12, 2005, 03:19:53 PM: Can someone come up with better images for when there are new posts and when there aren't? They need to have a transparent background and generally match color-wise with the default theme (but it'd be nice if they were universal colors that matched with Fitlike's variants).

Others have expressed concern about the logo. I personally like it, but if there is a better offering, we could always replace it.

Post by: VBprogrammer on April 12, 2005, 04:07:01 PM: As for cleaning the logo up i'll post the photoshop file (i'm in glasgow at the moment), because the background its gif transparency its alittle yucky on a coloured background, by changing the colour of the background in photoshop it should look ok. But if someone does something better post that, i just got sick of looking at the VB icon.

Font is currently a maybe, the stroke amount is still a maybe, and the little swirl of the "entropy sink" (jesus does that sound dorky) is going to change a bit. But here's what I have so far:

I wish the GIF image format would just die already. Like floppy drives, GIF is deprecated and frustrating considering there are better alternatives. (PNG :cool2: )

The status indicators should defo's be something along lines of the swirl, and possibly the same thing to indicate a changed thread except with a arrow pointing down.

Then again, I think it looks fine in reference to the post colors. I don't know about the color where the logo is.

And Fitlike: I designed it with mostly VariantDark in mind, and I think it looks wonderful there, too. Haven't checked anything else but Green, and your variation is just fine with me :).

I still want to see if I can't clean up the swirl more, and maybe even get a GIF looking nice, for the heathens who still use IE. I think I'm sold on the font, though.

I like yours, BMJ, but it seems a bit bulky height-wise. Seems like it could be sort of distracting. Really interesting idea, though.
