I grew up where soda and pop were synonymous.

Not me, and this pop fad is a new thing for me. It just started coming out of my mouth like three weeks ago.

Define what you think "healthy meals" are.  Cutting out caffeine isn't going to do anything for your weight loss.

> The BMI is such bullshit that it should be a crime to propagate it.

It's stupid to go by it as gospel but it's not a terrible guide.  ober would look really skinny at 177 though.  I'm shooting for 180 and I'm only 5'10"

Define what you think "healthy meals" are.

everything is home cooked. Healthy meats, vegtables, etc. Examples are like chicken or steak stir fry, chili, steamed veggies, etc

Log your food on DailyPlate or FitDay and be anal about it.  You're not eating what you think you are.  Weigh things and make sure you account for dressing and sauces and stuff.

edit: I'm not trying to say you're dumb or anything - I had to do the same thing to start seeing weight loss.  It's super easy to make a "healthy" meal into a caloric monster without even trying.  If you're not losing weight and you're actually pushing yourself in a workout, you are eating too much, pure and simple.

I will say that logging helped me figure out how much I was eating and then how to change it.  I was really surprised how much food you can pack into 1800-2200 calories a day if you are smart about it.

Right now I'm not logging because I hate paperwork and I know what simple changes I can make to improve my diet.  I figure once I hit a plateau I'll log for a few weeks to see what I can change at that point.

Yeah, once you start to get it you don't necessarily need to keep doing it, but it's helpful to keep it in check.

You can fit a lot into 1800-2000 calories, but at the same token you can eat 1800-2000 calories without trying very hard if you're making bad choices.

You don't eat nearly enough protein and that iced tea is no different than drinking a pop.  Drink water or diet drinks

Also are you sure you're eating a cup of refried beans?  Don't guess.  Are the tacos from Taco Bell or something or did you make them yourself?  How much meat and cheese are on them?  Unless you're getting them from a restaurant where it's portion controlled, put the ingredients in individually

Nah we are making them, and a cup of beans is probably more then i will be eating. The iced tea was my final salute before i go all water for the next 30 days.

People drinking one diet soda per day get strokes and heart disease more than people drinking one regular soda a day.
