I'm actually really drawn to libertarianism in theory, but in practice I am just not convinced that it would do more good than harm, at least in regards to economic issues. On most social issues I'm on board.
I just feel that government is getting too big. Too involved in people's lives. High taxes, etc. I think the Fed should be dissolved or its power limited tremendously. I mean, why the hell are the Fed bailing out Europe? I don't understand why this hasn't gotten more coverage. It's too big of a gamble that's putting the American people on the hook.
Every time the Fed prints more inorganic money it's just a tax on the people; that pisses me off. Talk about taxes.....
Why are we borrowing money from Japan to keep a military base in the Pacific to protect Japan? It's freaking ludicrous.
Libertarianism promotes a lot of ideas which make a lot of sense to people that value small government.
Non interventionism - why do we have so many freaking bases all over the world? Why are we occupying so many countries? All that costs money.
Ron Paul does have a few ideas which are too extremes even for me, but i honestly think we need a pull to that direction to balance things out.
Just freaking thin out government, close some foreign bases, limit or get rid of the Fed altogether.
