Gas Price Thread
« on: May 01, 2008, 07:59:51 AM »
I know there are other sites dedicated to this stuff and I could just go to gasbuddy.com or gasprices.mapquest.com or AAA but sometimes its just nice to vent.

What did you pay for your last fill up?

Quantity x Rate = Total Cost

I'll start.  I found the best deal in the area last night (down a few cents from earlier this week)

15 gallons X $3.699 = $55.50

22.3 x 3.999 = $89.17   oh yeah - gas guzzlers unite!   (that was my wife's X5)
my mazda: 13.9 x $3.919 =  $54.47

both cars use premium :( I'm lucky enough to have a company gas card and three of the cheapest gas stations are on my way home.

Can't remember how many gallons it was but it cost ~£45. T'was premium. I did intend to fill it up but my wallet started gnawing at my jeans as a means of escape so I had to make do with 3/4 of a tank.

21 Litres @ £1.089 per litre.

So that's 4.6 gallons @ £4.96 per gallon

4.6 * 4.96 = ~£22.80 = ~$45.

Roughly £10 of that has gone straight to the Treasury.

That will last about 10 days of normal driving.

Edit: Just checked and it appears you Americans calculate Gallons incorrectly so it's actually about 5.55 of your Gallons.

10 days must be nice... I usually fill up at least twice a week... 3 times if you count my wife's car.

Twice a week!!

That would bankrupt the average Joe in Britain. Government would love it though.

~45L x $1.21 /L = $54.45

So about 11.89 gallons @ $4.58 per gallon.

I spend about $400 - $500 per month in gas :(  Glad I'm not in Europe though :D
