So, I got my new laptop, and it's a beauty... I'll try to post pix sometime.  But I have one problem with it.  The screen looks GREAT, especially for text, but when I'm on the web, for example, the text looks great, but the images are all kinda messed up... like they're low quality or something.  Is there a setting that might be causing this??  Anyone else had this problem?

If you're not using the maximum resolution of your screen things might seem slightly weird due to software scaling.

This might be impossible but could you take a photo of it and post it?

Whenever I've seen that (we have similar problems on ATM screens) it's usually the text that's fscked up. YMMV

I'm starting to think it's fucking IE's interpretation of PNGs, because it all looks fine in Opera.

Ive never had any problems like that with my 600m. If it looks fine in Opera id go with the "its all IE's fault" theory.
