Really you can move it anywhere you want, I don't see why not. As my dad taught me they don't go in the breaker box because it is bad practice to put anything metal, or other then wires for that matter, inside the box.

Well I assume it's taking power from the GFI, so I'd have to move that too and that's easier said than done and I don't really want to move the outlet anyways.
