$2K? $3K?

I believe it, but that seems really insane for a little dent.

You're supposed to report $500+ damages to the DMV here. I got scraped and didn't report it, it seemed like no big deal. Turns out it was $2k.

Well, in came in under $1500. They don't think the bumper needs to be replaced, they think it can just be reconditioned (something about melting it back into place, I'm skeptical). Also, they're going to try and just fix the hood and apparently that's only supposed to take a couple hours. I'll be really amazed if I take it to the shop and they agree, but if not they'll just have to deal with the insurance. The only think I'll be out is for fixing the rock chips on the hood so they can clear coat without is looking ugly.
So, now it's time to schedule the service. :unenthusiastic yeah:

"But those chips weren't there before the accident..." :)
