Comodo. It's ok but I'm not creaming my pants over it.
May switch back to Avast.

AVG started to piss me off too. If you recall a thread I had a while ago.. it just wouldnt install properly. At startup on occassion it would have "No Active Components".

I am currently using AVAST, I liked the AVG UI, but AVAST has been okay so far, no problems.

Yeah, I think I'm going with Avast.  I like Avira, but they're so goddamn annoying with the ads for premium.

haven't we been through this discussion before?

I second the eset suggestion. I use it on all my personal computers; all computers at work have it, and that is the only package we sell to our customers - there is no machine leaving my company without it.

There is no free version but you can install a 30 day trial.
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

So I got nailed last night :(  Google update was crashing so I rebooted, got some message about a system file being corrupted, said fuck it and turned the machine off and went to sleep.  Woke up, booted up, windows came up (weeee!), instantly got the google update crash (fuck!), opened chrome and none of the web pages were working.  Opened opera, did a search and noticed that the google result page looked kinda funky.  Launched fiddler and chrome started working.  I downloaded spybot s&d but it failed on install when it tried to call home.

So I hop over to this topic and started looking for suggestions.  Tried to get avast but the virus was redirecting the page.  So I go to the laptop, download avast, and move it over.  Install when great, did a reboot and scan, it found the FDss virus, removed it, and now all is right in the world!

I've been using Norton for years and have never had a problem with it (touch wood).  I'd rather pay when it comes to security than rely on something that's free.  I can claim my subscriptions on my tax return anyway, so basically it's "free" for me to use a commercial product.

You have had issues, you just dont know it because norton has not caught them. I will stake my professional reputation (which is very good, assholes lol) on the line against norton/mcaffe security suites any day of the week.
