ckeditor file browser
« on: September 19, 2009, 11:26:17 PM »
So FCKeditor got upgraded to "CKeditor 3.0".  Great... no built-in file browser but they're pushing CKFinder... which has a steep license fee.

Anyone know of a decent web file browser/managers that can be integrated with other rich editors?

CKFinder is really nice.
If you have a client who wants to pay for it then, there you go; meanwhile, I found a workaround that basically hides the "Hide Message" button. Effectively removing any need for the license.

I wrote up a description here: http://www.micahj.com/ckfinderDemoHack.html

Once you have that going, I also came up with a method for securely integrating pixlr.com image editing into ckFinder!

I wrote a blog about it on myspace a while a go - I'll have to find it and write up something a little cleaner.

Any idea why I would be getting this?

The file browser is disabled for security reasons. Please contact your system administrator and check the CKFinder configuration file.

I get that when ckfinder opens.... and I haven't adjusted any of the settings.
