Two guys I work with (Damon - vocals; Steve - bass) are in a band called Lunar Juice. And from 10 til 2 they put on one mutha of a kick arse rock show last night. I was only going to stay an hour, but they rocked out. They're a covers band, leaning mostly towards 90's indie/punk/rock, some 80's new wave, and recent chart hits (like U2's "Vertigo"). I honestly didn't think they'd be as good as they were. If they wrote originals they'd be a hit on the local scene. There's nothing like a live rock band. Don't get me wrong, I like DJ's and hip hop acts, but they just don't have the same effect in performance.
Highlights of the night: "Interstate Love Song" - Stone Temple Pilots, "Vertigo" - U2, "Tainted Love" - The Living End, and the stupid drunken old idiot who tried to pick a fight with a 6'6" hulk.
