Burning Seasons

How do the production companies get so many episodes of a show on each disk when doing season sets? i am burning four seasons of shows and trying to get more then 2-3 episodes per disk. They are 4.7GB disks

Last time I checked, a regular 22-ish (45 minute) episode season is around 6-7 disks, so you're right on the money?

Many of them are Dual Layer discs. As with most of the movies these days.

It has two layers of recording medium.  So it can look through the first layer and get the data off of the second layer.

It reads the second layer by varying the angle of the laser.
