Title: Movie Draft Rule Question
Post by: charlie on January 14, 2009, 05:15:14 PM
A question has come up about whether a TV Mini-series should be allowed to be drafted. I don't really have a problem with this, but I don't think it really qualifies based on the rules as written. We do allow TV movies and a mini-series isn't far from that, though.

I'll leave it up to you folks. Poll closes in a few days. Majority rules.

I went with allow.  I like the idea of a TV draft, but I think that should focus on actual television series . . . and separate one-time events.  A mini-series extends over several nights, but qualifies as a one-time event, and therefore is more "movie" and "TV Show".  Would you consider Rose Red a TV Program?  I don't.

I assume that you think the TV draft would be a good idea, not that you'd want to change your vote?

Yes.  I think that a TV draft should be a full fledged series rather than just a couple shows in a closed loop presentation.
