Late yesterday afternoon I bought a recharge for my mobile.  I'm on vodafone, so obviously that's what I asked for.  It wasn't until I've gotten home that I find they've given me an optus recharge instead!

I went back to the store this morning and they basically refused to refund me, pointing to a crappy sign that's stuck down on their counter which states "it's the responsibility of the customer to check there recharge voucher is correct".  

At what point does this take effect? I mean, had I realised there and then they'd given me the wrong one would they say "You said something else"?!

Fucking wankers.  They said they would only give me a return if they are able to sell the voucher.  Great.  I'm going to check on my lunch break.  

Hopefully they won't pull a fast one and tell me that they don't recognise me or something.

Oh yeah, forgot you yanks would be scratching your heads.  Yes, it's a pre-paid cell phone card.  Or a recharge voucher as it's known here, basically a docket with a code to call through to your telco with.

Ah ok that clears up why 7-11 wouldn't take it back.  Though most of the prepaid cards I've gotten had the crap you had to scratch off in order to see the code.

Well they gave me the correct voucher in exchange.  I'll never go back to that store again.  I would ban 7-11 outright if not for the fact I love slurpees.
