http://www.google.com/talk/
I dont see how this is gonna catch on...they're a bit late in the game
-
I just heard about it, but apparently, it's already big some places. Or predicted to be, at least.
-
Google have announced that a major goal of the Google Talk service is interoperability.
That's a plus...I can't really name a messenger which actively promotes compatability with other protocols. (GAIM is one of them, but it's nice to have a company backing to solidify things and deal with protocols whose supporters don't like to play with others.)
On one hand, Google is taking over the world, but on the other hand... should I complain? I bet around 1995 a lot of people liked Microsoft. Maybe in 2015 Google will be hated amongst the internet population.
-
by 2015 GOOGLE will be the name of either the new windows or the coolest linux distro ever
-
linux distro.... google runs linux on it's servers :D
-
it would rock, and would probably be the most imformation packed os ever
-
I'd run googix, that would be sweet.
-
The google OS will be web-based, tho. Keep that in mind. You won't have a HD for a basic PC... everything will be stored on the server and you can get to it from anywhere.
-
I think the option would rather be you have a HDD and isntall the os, but most functions would have an option for "offline" mode but would be ideal for connections to remote servers. My only problem with that is the lack of privacy it would tend to include.
I'm kinda hoping they do something now.

You know what? Google has a cool search engine. That's it.

Really? You're out of your goddamn mind.
