Remove Recovery Partion
« on: September 16, 2007, 06:48:54 PM »
Well my laptop came in over the weekend and now I want to format it and install windows and ubuntu myself.  Now the question is, can I remove the recovery partition as long as I have made the recovery cd's, or should I leave it on just in case.  I'd like the space back that it takes

You bought an HP right? If so, you should be safe. I did it, but i dont use my recovery cd's either. I have an emachine my dad uses, and i did it to that one as well and i know he has used the disks a few times. I'm pretty sure the cd's create that partition when they run anyway, so i dont see a problem with removing it.
hey ethic if you and i were both courting lily allen..... oh wait, which one of us has a relationship that lasted more than the bus ride home?

It depends on the disk size for me. If I can get away with it I leave that partition there. I had a 320gig drive, so I can get vista & linux on there with loads of space to save
