I usually google what I want and to make and look through a few sites then figure out what combination works best. I've also had really good luck on product-specific websites that tout their own products in recopies... like Franks Red Hot or Frenchs Onions. The key, I've found, is to read peoples comments and adjust as needed.
I made a meatloaf the other night (my first attempt) and didn't read the comments first that suggested adding worcestershire sauce or something more to flavor the meat which ended up being a little bland in my final product.
I've also come to realize that plagiarism is rampant as many recipes are exactly the same.
I don't know which sites I'd recommend but I'm not a fan of cooks.com despite its high search engine ranking.
