Title: 21
Post by: Steve on May 22, 2008, 11:45:47 PM
I REALLY liked this movie. Great acting, solid story line, and truely entertaining. It was fairly predictable, but it kept attention anyway. First movie in a long time that i truely enjoyed through and through.

9.5/10

Pure POS.  I read the book first.  21 was fiction with vague references to reality.  Very vague.  It was a complete and utter failure in it's representation of the book.  It should have been named differently and not associated with the book.  BTW the book was great.

if you want a book, read a book. It's a movie about counting cards how accurate to the book does it really NEED to be? It's not like your talking bout LOTR here for christ sake.

I'm with KB, if you're going to do a movie based on a book, it must be verbatim damn it!!!

;)

Where are kids in the street to yell at when you need them?

Not everything you do in a book translates well (or at all) to the screen.

Yeah... but if it isn't a relatively faithful interpretation of the book, then it shouldn't really be marketed as based on that book.

(Note that I don't know if 21 the movie is marketed as being based on the book you guys are talking about.)

big difference between based on a book and being an interpretation of the book.

6/10 for me, saw this on a flight one time and was massively disappointed

I should've watched Vantage Point instead!

It isn't remotely like the book.  I understand some things translate poorly, but this was a completely different story.
