My wife tried to start that book like 2 times already.  Apparently the beginning is hard to get through?

Yeah, it's slow in the beginning and there is no "action" until the end. But the mystery really gets interesting once you're into it.

It's very close to the book.  They changed the ending a little bit but I liked the movie version better.

We already decided you shouldn't even bother with the movie(s) now that you've read the book. You should have watched it first.

I suspected the end might change. Also, I just found out that they actually made two movies, apparently there was an original European one before the hollywood version.

I just borrowed the second and third books from a friend, not that I'll actually have time to read them now that I'm back to the grind.

I'd rather have a book spoil the end of a movie than have a movie spoil the end of a book!

But reading the book spoils the entire movie!

We already decided this. Get on it.

Almost done with Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter.  Awesome story and very well done with intertwining actual historical events as well.  Awesome read!

Why?  It's not even out yet, is it?  And I heard good things.

Well, mostly I was making a joke based on the posts above yours. ;)

But also, it's been out for a few months and I heard bad things (mostly just from critics and news reports).

The movie is absolutely terrible and that comes as no surprise. Ashley made me see it because she is a TB fan.

Didn't know there was a book, the whole concept seems completely retarded to me.

... it's fiction/fantasy.  You kind of have to check your logic at the door.  And the book is really good.

The book was okay.  I wouldn't go nuts recommending it.  I found it kind of boring for a bit.

I agree that the mixing of history and photos into the fiction just rocked.  Kind of like DaVinci Code.

this was a super busy week at work for me, but I got through a few chapters of the hunger games...pretty cool, but I don't like first person story telling :( plus, and I don't want to sound like a snob, so far this is written in a super simple way. I think I was hoping for something more adult.
