« on: October 09, 2007, 12:05:16 PM »
Any other poker players here? I'm an addict personally. If i could find an online table i can drop money onto from my paypal account i would probably be able to quit my day job. Or at least go part time haha.

I used to be into it a ton, but not so much anymore.  I still play from time to time with guys from work, but that tends to be a big pain in the ass, since there are a lot of hard feelings.

I guess overall I'm about even.  My big problem is that I really, really don't like one of the people that plays regularly.  He also tends to get retarded lucky (stuff like drawing to a set on the river and then not realizing that he won) and passes it off at being the best player in the office.  I get frustrated, go on tilt, and bust out.  I've done a lot better without him around, though :)

I love idiots at the table. I'm the type of ass that tends to play off pocket aces and let people bet into me, act like im caught, act like im trying to buy out, then take the pot. lol

Love to play, rarely have the time. Never really play for money, although my wife wants to assemble a poker party/tournament next month.

I scored a 90 on the poker IQ test, so obviously I'm not that good, but at least I know how to play.

Would love to play you guys for bragging rights. Not that I mind gambling a few dollars, I just don't want to have to set up something to transfer the dollars around.

Know of any sites that let you have private play money tournaments?

There are still sites that allow US players. Maybe Full Tilt?

Pokarstars allows us as well, but requires a credit card and for me thats a BAD plan. Now if i could use my paypal account to buy chips, thats my screw around money so that would be ok lol.

I never took a poker IQ test, hmm

Gotta love the quote from BLdSWtTRs, "Extremely good test. I agree with almost every answer." He got the highest score. :D

I used to play a lot at the casino nearby, not so much anymore.  Its turned into slot-machine poker, where people just really call with anything til at least the turn, often times the river as well.  If you are hitting your straights, flushes, and sets you can win a lot of money, otherwise you'll likely lose to people who hit theirs instead.  They have tournaments too which is a bit better.  The first hour people play smart which is fun, but the last hour everyone just goes all in with pretty much anything so strategy is out the window, so again it takes some of the fun out the game if you can't cash unless you get really lucky in the last hour.  Haven't played online in forever, having people constantly coming in and out of the table and no way for you to get a read on them kind of took the fun out of it for me I guess.

If there was anyway to setup a Esink game I'm in

i play on pokerstars.com ill have to see if i can make a table for us. No limit, of course :P

As for the people at the casino, its that way here in Atlantic City too because they all think they are poker gods for some reason. I usually start my night on the 1-2 no limit hold em tables to make some quick money, and then find out what time the tournaments are that night and where they are and pick one to have my real fun.

I usually head to the ceasers first, take 50.00 in chips and sit at the 1-2 NL table. Usually doesnt take long before im up a few hundred. I have never left with less then my initial 50.00. I rarely walk without having turned the 50 into 300-500.00

That site would be best for me, but I tried a long time ago (couple years) but they didn't allow private play money tables. I don't know about now.

Yea they still dont it seems. What we can do is try and arrange a date/time to play then one of us can find an empty table, and the rest can use the "find player" option to find the table.

make sure u have the pokerstars.com client though, the .net is diff and doesnt allow the search functions and such.
