Topic: Eating with chopsticks

I'm a big fan of pretty much any food ending with ese. I've always been impressed by people who eat with chopsticks at the restaurants. I'm only about 60-70% proficient at it. I think it makes you look less lame. There's a nice shop nearby that I get quite a bit of practice at now.

How many of you guys use chopsticks? Or, is everything just finger food?

I will do it on occasion... but I don't see the point when there is rice involved.  That's just frustrating.

I love using chopsticks, I use them with basically any -ese food as well. Rice is ok if it's sticky rice or served in the proper bowl (in which case the polite way to eat it is to lift the bowl to your mouth and shovel the rice in with the chop sticks). Otherwise I'll take a backup fork.

I have no issues with using them, maybe I was something-ese in a previous life?

I rock with them.  I even helped teach a Chinese kid in China to use em.  OOOOhh he got shit for that !

I use chopsticks a lot actually.  I remember that in Okinawa I got challenged to pickup a single grain of rice with them on several occassions (which I succeeded in doing).

The type of food, how it is served, and what it is served in do make a big difference.

while were on the topic of chinese, i ate in china town in NY for the first time ever last weekend when i was there. I never had duck before, and it was really good. I was kinda freaked out by the way they serve u the whole fish, and i didnt try any of it (buddy got it) but still.

the whole fish thing never did it for me either.  The Chinese fight over who gets the eyes.  Ewww.

They said it was really good, but i couldnt bring myself to try it lol. Had the scales and head and stuff not been there, maybe lol.

My dad and my aunt used to fight over who got to eat the eys of the fish.  I don't get the big deal with having the head on a fish, it's not like you actually eat it.

because since i was a little kid fishing and cleaning them i have been taking the head off. Maybe im just spoiled.
