I'm in the lab training neural networks to recognize hand-written digits. Sounds cool eh?

NOOOOOOOOOO, not when you have to vary many parameters accross a wide range of values so you can discuss their effects on the learning algorithms. It takes a half a fuckin hour on average to run this shit. Ive been in the lab for 6 straight hours and this assignment is only worth 8%

I'm going home to eat pork chops.... ok, fine.. left over lasagna.. the frozen kind. I'll do the analysis while I watch olympic re-runs... I'll probably get stuck with figure skating highlights given my luck.

ahhh, nothing like a rant for refreshment.

8% of the final grade?

i would seriously re-evaluate my current standing and then decide that it isn't worth it and do nothing.

yeah, i think many people do that. I saw one person come in late on the class of the last due date and hand in a single hand-written sheet of paper. no graphs or any type of experimental results... but then again, if Im not doing this Id probably just be wasting my time, might as well pull all many of them little percents in as I can.
