Tetherball
« on: April 20, 2008, 10:03:48 PM »
Just caught the end of Napolean Dynamite and it reminded me of my days in grade school. I remember playing tetherball during recess almost every day. Oh, those were the days. Do they still play tetherball these days or is it thing that's just too dangerous, like metal slides and monkey bars?

P.S. I was awesome at it too.

teatherball is for girls.

Nah... Tetherball is cool. They still do have it at some places, but I haven't noticed it at many schools I've seen.

4 square is where it's at.

This is true. We played basketball or football at recess a lot, but when we weren't doing that we played four square.

That's because when you were a kid they had to use a rock instead of a ball

Yup: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_square

We call that "handball" here - dude I was awesome at that game.  It's probably the only sport where being short is actually an advantage, and being little for my age, being able to get down low was far easier for me than the bigger kids.
