Just buy it. I'm sure the promise of ever lasting life and purpose is not a scam.

I said yes, because we should all do our part to stimulate the economy, especially since you imply that you'll be paying it off for a while.

That didn't take long.  Are you making money with this computer?  If not, bad move. *

Ordered?  Mac?

no i have a macbook pro for work. I like it but they're way to pricey.  "ordered" as in I bought it online.

"dude, I'm getting a dell"
  • Intel Core i7-930 processor (8MB L2 Cache, 2.80GHz)
  • 8GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz
  • ATI Radeon HD5670 1GB GDDR5  Graphics Card
  • 1-TB HD

That didn't take long.  Are you making money with this computer?  If not, bad move. *

I've been thinking about this for a while and, starting the thread here was sort of last minute after I researched out the model I wanted and saved it to my shopping cart.  Then I hesitated and posted here, giving myself time to make sure it wasn't just an impulse by.  And 5 years is pretty old. I mean, my OS version is from 2002.  Thats 9 years ago!

You usually get more for your $$ when you build a machine like that.  I could go on.  I won't.

Micah...
Why buy now?  Sandy Bridge is out to lunch so they are using the pre-SB CPUs (i7 9xx) this immediately puts you a generation behind.  Waiting a another six weeks would have served you well in this case.  Price would have been about the same.

Also, do your apps use HyperThreading?
