Itching again
« on: April 03, 2009, 01:43:24 PM »
I've got the bug to get another electric. Been playing more lately and my old Tele isn't cutting it for a Les Paul. :D

I'm still a big Tele fan though, and since they're way cheaper than the PRS that I lust for, I've thought for a long time about getting a second one to monsterize.

They have a used one at the local shop Tele Link that if I could pick it up for a little bit less wouldn't be a half bad deal. Then I'd throw a Gibson pickup in the neck position (or some other humbucker) and swap out the ugly pickguard for a plain white one.

But then, doing some youtube surfing, I ran across this:

For those that don't know who he is, he used to be a HUGE studio musician for quite some time playing on all sorts of people's records. Most notably in the country music sector. He was an early inspiration in my learning guitar. The guitar he's pitching looks to be quite a bit like what I plan to do to my "lescater" (or maybe telepaul?) but with an interesting middle pickup.

And just for fun, I'll share this one with y'all (a song I'm going to be learning):

Funny you should mention tele's. I've been thinking about them lately too, but I've never actually played one. I stopped by a local music shop last weekend but they didn't carry any. I miss having an electric around (mine is back home at my parents place, about 3,000 km away).

white on white is nice, but the black pickguard isn't too bad looking.
