I've work in a wide array of office settings. They've all been "business casual" but that definition varies greatly. A the big downtown insurance brokerage place it meant minimum khakis and a tie, but slacks and a jacket were common. At the non-profit it meant khakis and a polo or button down shirt. 8 years in marketing and its a world of jeans and hoodies - depending on the person, those might be $20 old navy jeans or $150 designer jeans paired with Neiman Marcus blazer. Sort of anything goes.
I just interviewed at another agency - played it smart for the interviews and, for the second round at least, wore a sports coat of slacks with some sharp sneakers.
For the last few years I've mostly worn jeans and a cheap polo, button down or hoodie... kinda whatever I felt like. If I get a new gig, I might want to start fresh with my "look." I'm 39 and can re-invent myself if I want. Just not sure how I want to do that.
So what do you wear to work?
