I play Peggle, Oregon Trail, FlightControl, Catcha2, and Monkey Island (just got it).
All of them eat batteries at an exponential rate.
-
Parking Lot, Yahtzee something or other, and Poker something or other.
All are free. :|
-
I Dig It, Scramble, LightBike, iShoot Lite, Streetball, Bowman, Falling Gems, Paper Toss, WildWest (pinball), Flood-It!, 21 Pro, JellyCar, BeerPong, Mr. Aah Lite, Roshambo
And some other card games and whatnot that I rarely play.
-
Peggle, Flight Control, Wurdle, Bookworm, Scrabble, Ragdoll Blast and my favorite Zen Bound.
-
You can get peggle on an iphone?
/me wants an iphone now
-
Peggle is the most infuriating and addicting game I have ever played.

Peggle is the most infuriating and addicting game I have ever played.
I thought women held that title
-
Flight Control looks cool... not so sure about Peggle... looks weird... what is it?
-
One of the most awesome games on the planet
-
Imagine breakout on super-crack and you might start getting an idea
-
Peggle is amazing. Get it. Now.
FlightControl is fun but it ain't Peggle.
-
Zen Bound is my favorite, find it very relaxing and mind provoking. Need to find more puzzle games though, like ones where you need to solve some logic problem before advancing to the next level, I enjoy those types of games the most.
-
Monkey Island
-
I loved Monkey Island, but the puzzles are frequently not what you'd really call logical at all
-
Flight Control, Habor Master (Flight control but better!) and my current addiction: Civ IV.
-
Civ IV! Jesus I need an iPhone
-
It's so fucking addicting. Ruined whole days of studying. Put it on a touch!
-
I use the iTouch.
Hey what is your high score(s) in flight control.
What is Civ like?
-
It's what you'd expect. The rules are a little simplified. Controls are a tad chuncky but you get used to them. From a timeline perspective, it's a bit skewed. Cities take a long time to build things, but there are some buildings - especially near the end that make cities REAL powerful. You no longer use workers/engineers - buy roads instead. I can usually get gunpowder by teh 1500s, but can't get to endgame space until much later. Win by 1950s - often by military because tanks vs pikemen are fun.
I'm still working my way up the difficulty levels to find a good one, but bottom line: the same "just one more turn" feeling is ruining my grad school work just like high school all over again!
-
I haven't played Civ. I am guessing it is like Rise of Nations?
-
WHAT????? I've never played Rise of Nations, but Civ is a CLASSIC. You can go straight to Civ IV via steam, but I recommend starting with the "original" - Civ 2 - and moving on to Civ 4. Civ III is okey, but in general the odd numbers aren't that special.
I think you can even get 2 free online.
-
Civ 4 is probably the best strategy game ever made
-
But... but... I don't want to PAY for any of these games! :(
-
You wouldn't pay for Civ?
-
But... but... I don't want to PAY for any of these games! :(
It isn't like they cost very much.
-
And again, best strategy game ever
-
Put it on a touch!
I use the iTouch.
I agree on this. No need for the iPhone unless you want a camera (or a phone). Apparently they're positioning iTouch as a gaming device, so they lowered the price instead of adding a camera.
-
You wouldn't pay for Civ?
I'm not a big strategy gamer.
It isn't like they cost very much.
Much is a relative term. I'm a cheap bastard.
-
I'll pay $0.99, maybe $1.99. But probably not much more than that.
-
I will usually pay $6 or less. Most of my apps are a buck or two.
-
iphones do have great games, but the phone would never hold up for me
-
you bastards... just purchased peggle, flight control, harbor master...
-
cant u guys pirate these?
-
Why? Why would I even consider pirating an fairly priced, accessible, quality game? Why?
-
seems like a lot of dough for something so basic lol.
-
I'll have to check out Flight Control
Games I mostly play are Scrabble, Word Warp, Peggle, Wild West Pinball, Mafia Wars, and Morocco (othello)
-
Ooh. Good thread. I just bought one of the 16 gig 2G touch that stores are trying to get rid of for a pretty awesome price, and now I feel like I'm one of the cool people.
-
I grabbed Peggle because of this thread, and it is as awesome as everybody says.
I also got Flight Control, and I like it but it doesn't have too much replay-ability and it's hard for me to play games where I have to concentrate for long periods of time without being interrupted by a screaming kid or a game or show on TV.
Wild West Pinball was just meh for me.
I just found a new game that I'm currently addicted to and is my second favorite behind Peggle: Angry Birds. It was the highest rated game in the app store, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Really just like a flash game you'd find online but with tons of levels and easy playing a lot like Peggle. Check it out if you're looking for a new distraction for $0.99.

How about Civ?
-
How about Civ?
Too time consuming (and expensive?) for what I use the iPod Touch for. It's not even my iPod. I usually only get a few minutes at a time and sometimes go days without looking, although that happens less now that I'm playing Words/Chess with friends. Civ IV seems like it would take too much time and thinking to get into. I might be wrong, though, as I've never played any of the Civ games.
-
Angry Birds is ok... some of the levels are just stupid hard though.
-
OH, and my new favorite game is Soduko 2. I know it's just the classic game, but the interface is great and I enjoy the puzzle of it. Plus there are multiple levels of difficulty so I can play a 2 minute game or a 10 minute game and anything in between. Good shit.
-
If Civ IV for the iphone is somehow the same game as the PC version, it is extremely time consuming and addictive. It's an excellent, excellent game.
-
Angry Birds is ok... some of the levels are just stupid hard though.
You're doing it wrong. I haven't had a problem, yet. ;)
Then again, I've been playing it almost non-stop the last few days home with a sick kid.
-
CIV is simpler on the iPhone. That said it still works and I enjoy it more than the full game thus far.
-
New favorite games are:
Helsing's Fire - fun puzzle game where you kill undead
MiniSquadron - plane shooting game
Tilt to Live - stupidly addicting reaction game
Super 7 - slightly similar to Air Traffic where you combine numbered orbs to add to 7
Geodefence - really fun tower defense game with geometry
Doodle God - hard to describe, you are a god combining elements to create new elements
Lux DLX 2 - if you like Risk type games this is a must, dozens of maps you can download to play on
Angry Birds is really good, but I had to delete it, some levels were so freaking annoying that I was just blasting away mindlessly for half an hour.
-
I just finished all the levels and got a "more coming soon" message. WTF1: WTF with the more coming soon (not that I mind that more is coming, but I shouldn't be given levels in the menu and then click and not get them). WTF2: WTF you guys can't beat those levels? I must have too much time on my hands lately.
By the way, PJ, are those mostly cheap, mostly expensive, or a mix?
-
Huge CivIV iPhone fan...
Also love Angry Birds. I've beaten them all, and I'm slowly working towards getting all 3 stars on the first set...I just can't pull it off yet.
As to the more coming - charlie - I've had it since early June and they've added at least 30 levels with updates since that time...so don't worry. :)
-
I lack patience when it comes to those games where being off by just a pixel can mean the difference between failure and success. I tend to play when I'm not in a thinking mood so instead of planning out my attack I just wail at the level til I get a lucky bounce.
I couldn't tell you how much each game was, anywhere between 99 cents and $4.99. Couple even have free trials.
-
PJ - that's the exact way I play it...great for wasting time while watching TV or while listening to an audio book...
-
Yeah... ditto here. I need a game where I can play mindlessly and still do pretty decent. I like games that aren't mega-precise.
-
New favorite: Jet Car Stunts. Tons of replay, interesting game.
Note, this is a driving game, but as Knuck will tell you, I'm a huge 'vehicle'/'driver' type gamer.
-
:D
