It sucks that most of those block you from getting achievements.
It also sucks that I'm 3 hours from home right now and the game is just sitting waiting for me at my local Gamestop

Why did you preorder it at Gamestop? Ocarina of the Time was
the last AAA game I remember being in short supply, and that
was because it was difficult to manufacture as many cartridges.
I don't have a good reason.  I preordered it when I bought MLB 2K8 a couple months ago.  Figure, I preorder from the only place in the entire freaking world with no preorder freebies.  You're right, I could have easily grabbed one off the shelf - there were a lot there when I picked it up last night.  Also, Oblivion had shortages, at least around here.

The game is sweet so far.  I have to work this morning (2 hour drive for 10 minutes of work, what the hell) but I'll be playing all afternoon.  Getting drunk is hilarious.

So basically I :weely: want to buy the PS3 + GTAIV bundle tomorrow (or today). I can afford it... but I guess it would be more responsible of me to wait until next week when I know if I've gotten the job at the DVLA (interview saturday).

But omg I wanna play it now
*throws sippy cup*
*wails*

screw responsibility. You're young enough where you can
do dumb things. Pfft. I'm young enough where I can do
dumb things.

I'm buying it!

YEAAH!!

... think I'll wait 'til my bro' gets home though, see if he wants to go halves on it. At least that way he has a reason to try and kick me off of it whenever he wants to play it.

Or I could just move out.

Sooooooooo.... How is it cheez/??
It's pretty awesome but I haven't gotten a chance to play it much yet. I just got home from work so I'll be spending the rest of the afternoon playing probably

I sold mine about a month ago. It broke down twice and I hardly played it anyway, I'm really more of a PC gamer (and secretly a Wii gamer) which is another reason not to buy a PS3: I'd only be getting it for GTAIV and MGS4.

I never took it online either. No room around the only router in the house - we don't have wireless.

EDIT: "I broke down twice" -> "It broke down twice". Man what a typo.

Ok, I've played for 2 hours so far, and I know its going to get a whole lot better, but WTF?  I didn't buy a Grand Theft Auto game so I could bowl with some random chick and drive my whiney cousin around town on man-dates!

I did play that one a bit, and maybe I'm not remembering how that one started out.  I don't mind dates or get-to-know your buddy missions, etc but I wanna do some exciting stuff too.  So far in GTAIV all I've done is punch a couple punks on a basketball court in 2 hours :(

But like I said, I'm sure it'll get a whole lot better here soon.

Yeah, it gets a lot better, storywise.  I'm a bit further than that now, and the only reason I'm doing stuff like that anymore is because I want to

Today's PA is pretty lol
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/5/2/

LOL, that sums up most of my dates so far.

Ok, enjoying the game a lot more now.  Only gripes are driving is effing harder than it should be and also that I can't reconfigure the buttons on the controller to my tastes.  Its bad enough that the accelerate and the run buttons aren't the same, whats worse is that the accelerate button becomes the shoot button when you leave a car!  No big deal when all I had was a baseball bat but now that I'm carrying around assault rifles my routine is stop the car, get out, accidentally shoot a civilian when I meant to hit run button, jump back in car to avoid cops, drive big circle around city, come back to same spot, try again.
