My phone got an update last week and I started getting connected to Verizon's 5G network. It is pretty consistent now, and below is the speed i get near my house. That's fast, no doubt, but wasn't it supposed to be like 10 times that?

Those speeds they tout are theoretical. You're not going to get near that in general unless you're right next to (like within 500 feet) from a tower. That's the thing about 5G. The range on the towers is much smaller so they have to install more of them.
