I would agree with this, however, I think that was the point of the movie.
it was about the
pursuit
of happiness, not the actual happiness itself.

Very true. And while I respect the filmmakers for sticking to that concept, it made the movie less enjoyable than it might have been. If I ever see it again I might like it better if I remind myself of this before I watch it.

Perhaps, but my memory is all or nothing, and I have no recollection of what Ober likes. The kid is cute, and the best part of the movie according to my wife. Perhaps that will appeal to their similarly shaped family sensibilities.
