wireless mouse batteries

I recently bought new batteries for my mouse and I want to make sure I'm not going to fuck up the mouse.  On the bottom of the mouse, it says "recommended 1500-1900 mAh batteries".  All I could find was 2500.  I figure it's probably ok but I thought someone here might have some insight?

WTH?  My wireless mice use freakin standard AAs.

Assuming your mouse wasn't built by freakin morons and has some type of voltage regulation inside of it I think you'll be fine.

Yo Benny.

That is a measurement of energy storage that a battery may be capable of.  Not its output.  You may use them without issue.

That's what I thought... just wanted to be sure.

So since that's a storage value... does that mean they'll last longer per charge?

Thats the beauty of rechargable batteries.  When they die I just change them out and throw the dead ones on the charger.  I keep it right next to my desk so I don't even have to get up :P

You have to take them out?  Get a logitech with a charging base.. d00der... the only downside is you're fucked if you let em run dry... but I just switch to my gaming mouse (wired) if that happens.

TBH I wouldn't remember to put it on the base.  Generally when I'm getting done for the day I'm 3/4 asleep and using the remaining part to stand up, push in the chair, turn off the monitor, and then fall into bed.

mAh = milliAmpere hours.

If you have a device with a single AA that takes 1mA of current then a 2500mAh battery will last 2500 hours, and a 1300mAh battery will last 1300 hours. At 10mA current draw the life will be 250 hours and 130 hours, and so on.

Incedentally, I just bought myself a kick-ass AA charger that charges a set of 4 2500mAh AA NiMH cells in just 18 minutes.
