I'll admit consoles have more games then PCs.  Of course 95% of the console games suck complete ass so it evens itself out.

Woah bro, piracy is just as bad on the console. In alot of cases its easier. There was a game i pirated a few months ago, a copy for the pc for me and a xbox360 version for my buddy (the one i chipped). His worked perfect first try, took me a week of dicking around to get my pc copy working.

wtf did you do wrong? Did you remember to reinstall DX after removing it, because that helps.....

It killed 3 programs on startup and I had to jump through hoops to get DX installed again.  Now video (playing videos) is fucked up a little... still trying to fix that.

Something else you should never do... install Nvidia drivers from Windows Update... fucking shit... I might have to reinstall windows after all of this.  :(

Now dxdiag is saying I have 8.1 installed, even though I installed 9.0c.  It's also saying I have registry errors (see attached).

Now what?  I think the PC is stable again... hopefully :(

It says direct3d isn't available now... what gives?  I tried installing directx again and it didn't change anything.
