Battle of the free anti-virus
« on: November 15, 2008, 01:19:06 PM »
So I'm sick of AVG.  Updates fail all the time, I honestly think it misses stuff, and it's generally annoying and runs scans way too often.

I have Avira running on my desktop right now and I like it except that it throws a pop-up for the premium version EVERY FUCKING DAY.  I also have Avast running on my laptop, and that seems to be a good contender at the moment.

Honestly, I'm borderline ready to buy something.

who's your ISP? Cox Cable gives us McAfee Suite for free.

perhaps your provider has a similar program?

LOL!

but seriously, it has found some viri before and its free so how bad can it be? the only catch is that I have to turn off its built in firewall for my wireless router to work.  otherwise seems fine, no?  :dunno:
