Title: Anyone else love Myst/Riven?
Post by: JaWiB on November 09, 2013, 01:52:09 PM
Cyan is trying to get a kickstarter funded for a new game in the same style: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cyaninc/obduction

They're still pretty short of their goal, and only 6 days left!

Apparently no one here cares, but they reached their funding goal this morning  :dblthumb2:

Myst was okay but I never liked the rest.

That said this looks interesting.

Glad they made their goals.

I cared and looked at it.  I just hated Myst and all games like it.  I like puzzles games like The Room (http://fireproofgames.com/the-room).  But the interaction is different.  Dunno.  Maybe now that I am older I would like Myst.  But I remember when I first bought it a long time ago, I was super bored.

It does seem to be a very polarizing game, but apparently it has enough of a cult following to get this one funded. I think I'm also one of the few people who ever read the books

Wait.  There were books?  Do you just stare at the pages and hope words appear? lol

"Read" might be the wrong word because you actually just jump through the pages into another world
