Title: New thing I made
Post by: micah on February 13, 2019, 01:13:02 AM
I made a new song.  Its only a couple minutes long so please indulge me by giving it a listen and making me feel good about my creative outlet.  And maybe wear headphones. These bass-heavy things always end up sounding lame on phone/laptop speakers.

Well I rather liked it.  Good work.

Hah, you weren't kidding about the headphones bit. I started listening to them on my desktop speakers and switched over to my headphones. How much time have you been spending on this stuff lately?

The headphones are key apparently.  When I was making it I either had my 5" Rokkit studio speakers on or was wearing headphones.  Then I upload it and listen on my phone and its super lame sounding.

Anyway, I've been going back and forth, time wise, for the last year or so messing around. I'll go months without doing anything and then I'll go a week or two where I'm spending my whole weekend or staying up late every night trying new things.  Usually its when I learn some new technique or tool and I want to try it out.

Like last week I re-did my Sia Remix from the My Little Pony movie: https://www.facebook.com/micah.murray/videos/10162124708975725/ because I was messing around with the Morphoder vocoder plugin for cool vocal effects.  This weeks project was about track automation (like recording dial/slider effects that change thoughout the song) including making a whitenoise builder.
