good to know.

also, I haven't tried these but they're half that price and I love their website's user interface:

I am in the market for some new earbuds
Ok, so now I'm looking.  My wife wants earbuds that will stay in her ear while working out.  This includes being upside down and all other kinds of angles.  So the Sony ones above are appealing but I wanted to see if anyone has any other suggestions?  I got her a different pair but it had a control thingy at about the neckline and when she was moving it kept hitting her.  Ideally it wouldn't have that.  Just something to make sure they stay in her ears and straight wires to the ipod.

Help!

Will they stay in the ear?  These types also scare me because if you get a really good seal and you accidentally have one of them get ripped out you could be looking at hearing loss.  Scary shit.

They stay in.  Several others do well but not like the Etymotics.  I have had them yanked out on occasion when lifting.  Nothing untoward happened to me...but I guess it is possible...?

Whoa.  Purchased.  Even if they suck, I don't mind throwing $10 at it to try them out.  THANKS!

I did look on Amazon at the reviews... 5/5 for all reviews.

If Sam likes them, please let me know.  The Ettys are damned expensive and I am pretty rough on them when I work out.

Yeah, if these don't work out, I'll probably spring for the Ettys for her Bday.  I'll post what I can get as far as a review from her.

Seriously...these might be nice.  I like the controller built into the cord.

I use the heck out of the controller in my Ultimate Ears at work.  Love them but they come out too easily for working out.

That won't work.  She doesn't want the controller thing on the cord like that because it hits her in the face/neck while working out.

Gotcha.  Then I recommend the mc5.  I use them for working out.  Don't know about how durable they are, I have been working out with mine for maybe 6 months now.  So far so good!  Very happy with them.  You might even get here custom fit inserts.

On another way more expensive note...

The ER4s though more expensive and harder to drive are repairable.  The drivers can be replaced.  I picked my set up in 92 and finally failed a driver about 6 months ago.  I still have to send them in.  I am trying to determine whether I want to replace the set for $130 or just the transducer for $85.

No, I meant on the ER4s.  I may end up with mc5s for her.  She got the other ones today and said they're too big or something.  I'll give a better review tonight.
