Noticed these this morning...

Fail.  Wife hates them.  I'm not a huge fan but I'm not going to go through the hassle of returning them.  I'll still use them for something.  The main problem is that they're basically like giant earrings.  The grip factor isn't fantastic and I could easily see them falling off/out of the ear.  I haven't listened to them yet to see how they sound.

Oh, and Knuck, those Etys won't work either.  She showed me what she wants last night.  She wants something more like this: http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SHQ3000-28-Earhook-Headphones/dp/B004477D0A/ref=pd_sim_e_14

Ah...

Yes.  The nicer pair of my Ultimate Ears has this loop over the ear feature.  They stay, but not well.  I really though the over the ear strain relief would be superior.  However they would never stay in during a workout.  I use them when mowing lawn and detailing.  Even then I have to re-seat them on occasion.  I use the foam tips for increased retention and seal.
I have these.

As I have said the Ettys stay in.  I have a small ear canal and they are the only manufacturer that seems to realize that we are out there.   :dunno:

Also these stay in, but over extended periods can be fatiguing.

Another manufacturer that use a rather unique retention method is Bose with these, but I have not tested them.

Hope this helps.

I was THIS close to buying a pair of Westone UM2s, but I just ordered these since I've needed a throw-around pair to go running. $20.

I like the Etymotic seals.  Best type of seal in the industry.

That said, folks spend a lot more than $200 on their hobbies.

That's called justifying a purchase ;)

Nice.  But I have realized that there is no such thing as a cheap hobby.

These are pretty freaking awesome for $20.

Ober, these are in-ears that go over the ear. Might be worth looking at.

Do you use them for more than running?  Do they stay in the ear really well?
