That reminds me - gotta get rid of my kindle since I have the iPad now.  Poor thing is sitting in a corner collecting dust.

Hmm. The other half hasn't settled on what she wants for Christmas, but if you decide to sell it off and it's in good shape I might be interested. She doesn't like my GS Tab.

When I get a tablet I'll probably be selling my Kindle, too - it's the 3G with a case.

Just read that Nook Tablet only allows you 1GB of the 16 for your own stuff, the rest is reserved for things purchased from B&N O_o

I bought a Fire this morning.  I'm weak.  Will play with it today and let everyone know.

I'm giving a guy at the office first dibs on my Kindle because I told him about it a few weeks ago.  Knuck I'll let you know if he doesn't want it.

gonna need a Fire review too.  I'm still bothered by how much I paid to the iPad and if I can recoup most of the iPad money, I'll gladly switch.

Initial thoughts - I don't like the interface that much, but it's ok.  Biggest issue is the app store being cut down.  The volume thing doesn't bug me at all, but then again I haven't watched any porn on it yet.  It's great for just watching TV and surfing the web or watching Netflix.  I'm uploading some stuff to the cloud service right now and will see how that works, too.

Govt,

How much cloud space do you get? Ubuntu One might work with that (you would have to check) and it has 5GB for free. I sync it with my laptop and android, and it gives me more space then something like Dropbox.

You get unlimited space for anything purchased on Amazon and 5GB otherwise.  You can buy extra space and it's all priced at $1/GB/year
