so its going on a year since I killed this laptop. I took it out of the closet this evening and messed around for a few hours. Its still as frustriating as ever.
I was able to (eventually) get a windows xp install to complete - but booting up after that just asks me if I want to launch in safe mode, which doesn't work, just brings me back to the same screen. I guess this thing really is f*cked. Its just a shame, its an otherwise perfectly good laptop.
I saw a motherboard on ebay for around $200. not worth it though (the risk of me trying to swap the processor and then rebuild the whole laptop and have it work again) -- oh well. It would be nice though. I'd like to have my own laptop.
Any thoughts on what the ebay/craigslist value of my dead lappy is?
