Obes and Char

I picked out all quality components.  I also selected best bang for buck.  Can you tweak this and that?  Sure.  Tweak up and down to your hearts content(s).  Charlie.  I can send you Vista64 and Office 07 too if you are okay with that.

Yes that is decent memory.  I like OCZ.

I use the following.

That is my case and I really like it.  You can use 140mm fans on the top and side if you wish.

I use an Enermax PS.

I use this heatsink with MX-2 thermal paste by Arctic Silver.

I actually have the mobo I suggested and am working on a PC for my brother using it.

My gaming machine has an EVGA.

My CPU is as follows.

My videocard is an BFG 9800GT OC.  Which is the same as any other 8800GT or 9800GT.  They are all about the same.

What computer did I build? Funny I don't recall doing that. Maybe that's why it is malfunctioning.

And +1 to BFG. They make great video cards and have THE BEST support and replacement warranty.
hey ethic if you and i were both courting lily allen..... oh wait, which one of us has a relationship that lasted more than the bus ride home?

Thanks Knuck!

I'm actually not going to go through with it. I don't have $600 I want to spend at the moment. I was just curious if you thought it would be a good idea for someone who doesn't generally put together machines but has a six year-old VAIO that wouldn't mind being replaced.

Yeah.  I received an offer from BFG.  They offered for me to send them my old AGP BFG 6800 GT OC and for $50 they would send me a BFG 9800GT OC.  Or a 9600GT for free.  Not even shipping.

Since the 6800 was just gathering dust on a shelf, I went with the $50 deal.

Tow weeks later I have the card installed in place of my 8800GT and they have a heavily used 6800 with a weak fan.

Thanks BFG!!!

Yep! My buddies 6800 got popped in a thunderstorm and he called bfg to see about maybe a discount since he's been a faithful customer even though he knew it was his fault. He was 100% honest and the next morning a new one showed up with a discount code good for his next bfg purchase...free.

Knuck, did the offer just come out of the blue or did u do something to prompt it?  Oh and I am going forward with this. I don't necessarily have the $600 either but I'm selling my current rig to Knuck and I can write the whole thing off as a business expense so it won't really hit me that hard.

I will overlook the intel thing, but you should really change that video card out for a bfg one.

I'm such a pushover... I did some poking around and I can get a BFG 9800 GTX 512mb for $30 more.  *shrugs* *cancels order to modify it*

It makes you smart. BFG makes a superior version of the nvidia cards (especially compared to evga) at affordable prices. Aside from the performance they offer an incredible replacement warranty that nobody else can touch.

Good call :D
