I drank the koolaid.....

My curve died today (6th one in as many months) and i went skitzo on AT&T. Long story short im a proud new iPhone 3G owner. $100 out the door for the phone, car charger, otterbox, full 2 year applecare protection, BT headset, and the usual stuff.

two questions

1) its an 8GB, so why does Win7 show it was like 6.5GB?

2) how in the hell can i increase the earpiece volume? like when im on the phone its hard to head, and i dont see the option to increase it

ok lets go for three.....

free app suggestions?

thanks, gonna check them out today. I was most excited for real gps and a few misc features but then i found out our background check system has a ful fledged iphone app....now im just stoked

any clue how i can set sms to a custom ringtone? I am hesitant to use any random app like i see on google, and i read you can do it after JB but im not going to JB mine. Would wast my protection plan and i kinda like the antivirus

You're safe with anything from the app store.  If you JB - good luck, make sure you change the root password.  It's not worth the trouble as far as I'm concerned - friend did it though and likes the additional apps.

Don't think you can do custom for text messages.

the app store is pissing me off. im not giving it a CC and i cant even get free apps until i do.

as for JB apple checks for it if you claim any type of warranty and since i paid for a 2yr protection plan it would be a mistake,

ugh on sms, that is really annoying. on another note...

do this work for anyone? I don't see any such option under network...

Mine is JB, its kinda nice being able to do stuff like create custom icons, themes, delete default apps, etc.  Nothing that is absolutely necessary, just nice.  For example creating folders to store your apps in, using your iphone as a camera or hot spot, playing nintendo or other console emulators...

I'm familiar with JB i used to do them for people all the time, but it would ruin the warranty i bought so i cant
