So I'm moving out of my lovely little apartment (yeah right, the place is a dirty shithole) today and into my friend's 7-bedroom (count 'em, 7!) house. This year there's 7 people in the house, but after I move in there's going to be 8 (one person is splitting a room with another).
I fucking hate moving, I just throw everything into trash bags and into the back of a truck and worry about it later when I have to actually set the room up. Not that that's even an issue though, because I won't have a bed until I get off my ass and go to the mattress store :(. Or a desk, come to think of it. I have a bookshelf and a laptop though, couple of chairs, what else do I need?
Coincidentally, my 21st birthday is in about a month. Does anyone want to wager a guess as to how these two separate things will combine to totally nail my GPA to the wall?

I move on Saturday....gotta get out of my mom's house so she can move to Baton Rouge...so I'm moving into my dad's. I have to meet the matress people there today. I'm nt looking forward to it. I already moved all my books, I just have to move a dresser, clothes, and electronics...the rest I'm making my mom's "movers" pack up and haul to Baton Rouge storage.

I move into a 4 BR house with my friends in a couple of weeks but can officially start bringing crap in tomorrow. I've been accumulating things for free so far.
It seems all of my friends' 21st's are on mondays. 9 AM tuesday classes aren't looking so good right now.

I'm the same way. It starts sucking when you're moving an entire household that way.

Truth be told, it was sort of a surprise thing (I was planning on it soon but not right then), and I haven't actually bought a ring yet. At least this way I know she'll get just what she wants

Heh, I've been dating her for almost 2 years now. We've lived together for almost a year, too.
I'm very glad I didn't buy the ring ahead of time now, because when she was trying things on today, she realized the cut she had told me she wanted was not, in fact, the cut she really wanted

Hmm... could you have a bachelor party online? I'm guessing the idea is completely and totally lame. But then again, it's amusing trying to think about how it would work out. I mean, you'd have a bit more freedom to make choices based on your own preferences with an online bachelor party. Drink as much as you want of whatever you want (and are willing to buy). No need for designated drivers. Plenty of stripper related choices. You can gamble if you want.

I don't really know. She told me about it a looong time before we ever talked about getting married. I remember her saying something about the money being better spent on a honeymoon or something. The ring cost me $150 but the equivalent diamond would have been about 4K at a jeweler
